Cricket St Thomas Golf Club

Strategic masterplanning for the diversification of this popular golf club

We have worked closely with the leadership team at this historic, 80-year old golf club on a series of proposals are designed to broaden and diversify the club’s income streams. There is significant potential for sensitive yet commercially viable growth.

Part of this masterplan is the development of a multi-unit lodge development designed to draw in a wider mix of visitors to experience both the golf course itself and other facilities on site including a sports bar, restaurant, gym, fitness studio and meeting rooms.

The plan is to build 20 high‑quality holiday lodges in strategic positions across the 100‑acre grounds. They will be carefully sited and designed to maximise visitor experience without disrupting the day‑to‑day operations of the golf course.

A key driver of the brief was to optimise lodge density, ensuring the scheme is viability and generates a good return on investment. That must be aligned with rigorously safeguarding the character of the course landscape and the broader visual amenity.

Throughout the design development, particular emphasis has been placed on ensuring that the lodges are both sympathetic to the natural topography and seamlessly integrated into the landscape, adding value without affecting the golfing experience.
